Anyone know the paint code for a 1942 Farmall A....Was the housing of the carb red.

paint it.

pretty much everything was painted at the factory - even the plug wires and radiator hoses believe it or not.

Here's a list of what was masked according to Guy Fay's originality guide:

battery ignition unit/magneto

secondary ignition wires

electrical terminals and terminal screws not assembled

serial plate and name plates such as generator, starter

gauge glass faces, lamp lenses

fuel strainer glass bowl

seat cushion

steering wheel grip

voltage regulator resistor

fuse holder knob

The tires/rims, batteries and muffler were installed after painting.

I used 2150 on my F 20 and it looks good. If you check out Fordson house they will be able to provide you with paint that is a darker red. The 2150 can look orange ish in the bright sun light.

I think Dupont 7410 and PPG 70019 are a match for this tractor.Have been looking at our hosts Farmall red how does this compare?Is the spray can comparable?
