Some body told me I had a case D mainafold on my case C Orchard. Okay what is the difference between the two mainafolds? The question came to my mind when I was thinking last night cleaning a classroom (opp's I am thinking again). Brought the old hood in to my metal Fabrication person we talked about coast on repairing the old one or makeing a new one. After three sodas we came up to the thought of makeing a brand new hood. It still coast the same for the new than just to fix the old one plus I think the new one will look better. What color is the 1930 case Orchard tractor? Is it gray or orange? Thanks for your help Brent

If you go to the case forum you will get a lot of good info on that. Those guys really know their stuff.

Brent , if you check in the Case club's magazine , "Old Abe's News" , I think you can find a repop of that hood already made . It is complete with the "Case" embossed in it. One of the club members makes them .

I would keep the gas manifold on it. The old kerosene manifolds always burn out after a while.
Unless you plan on running kerosene.

This discussion comes up over on the CaseIH forum on occasion. According to some on the CaseIH forum there were indeed orange Cs produced, check places that would be difficult to get to to spray on a repaint and look or scrape a little to see if you can find a layer of gray, I would not be surprised to find it's original. There are some over there that really know the old stuff well.

The Model C manifold had a preheat chamber that used exhaust to warm the air going through the intake tube, for better burning of the kerosene.

Should be Case LC Grey, Case part number B13017. Can be bought through Case dealers or John Saeli on the Case discussion board.

I think either manifold was avaliabe on that tractor, we've had a 1936 CC since it was new, and it has an original gas manifold. Mike
