Ice tea glass rant

Just sat back from fun sat with one of my boys. Got bath, fixed large glass of iced tea, strolling through yt as I was watching beach volleyball. I normally not into sports but trying to broaden my interest. Reaching for my tea glass I barely miss-judged, the distance spilling the whole thing on table and carpet. Now the problem, why are glasses mostly smaller on the bottom than top?? Geometry should be larger bottom. Maybe some of you fellows could make an adapter to fit most glasses.

Wider at the top so they don't fall through your hand so easily.

Should be shaped like beer bottles....tapered neck prevents rapid spillage when tipped over. I think that"s the result of cherman engineering, although steins were designed by thirstier natives.

They don't clean as well when the opening is smaller than down below. My wife and I went on a little cruise last weekend while on vacation. The glasses had very thick heavy bases. Try shopping at your local yacht supply.

At your ripe old age you probably got distracted looking at some beach volleyball babe in a bikini is why you mis judged your tea glass lol...

Please just sit back and relax because with all the work you have done to that M Farmall, I am sure it will run really good. A good running M is a real treat.

Would have helped had you not so intently been watching the VB game.
I watch a couple minutes same game till SWMBO changed the channel LOL

Hey, consider yourself lucky. A couple of weeks ago, I knocked over my big glass of milk. Had a major cleanup to do.
I always drink a big glass before bedtime.

Use a cup like this one. Not quite half a gallon. I can't have something that will tip in the tractor. Wasting iced tea is a crime. Fyi - they have these rubber straws at Wally World that are just the right size to plug the hole. I have nearly knocked out teeth with a cup like this without a straw when crossing the field. I sort of feel like one of the piglets with that thing, but it works good.

I once worked with a guy who had more knowledge of trivia than Cliff Claven.
He said a drink glass' height will be at the most three times the circumference
of the base.
Measure it up some time!

I always use a plastic glass/foam "cooler" combo.

Much more stable than a glass and keeps the tea cold.

It also does not sweat, eliminating the need for a coaster.

Bill, just be glad it wasn't hot coffee. If anyone can make an adapter, it's you.

Here is an idea, put a hole in your table. The boss wanted a way to keep silverware on table. We tried different things. Bought silverware that hangs on racks, that was a pain. Then I came up with this idea. We love it, works great. Use old silverware. Cheap glasses. Used a holesaw and a lazy-Susan.

I know you can cut the wheelwells out of a truck with a sawsall. So try using the sawsall to make a hole in table if you don't have a holesaw.

I often use a coffee mug for most beverages because I'm less likely to knock over a mug than a tall glass.
