I am getting tired of trying to find 22cal shorts, contemplating buying an air gun, want a repeating 10shot or more that I can charge with a tank. I got rotator cuff damage and don't want to do a lot of pumping. Anybody with experience? Advice would be appreciated.

Many of the "adult" airguns nowadays are single-pump, not the classic Crosman 760 / Daisy 880 multiple-pump types, and don't take a lot of pumping effort as they have quite long handles. I've got a .177-cal. cheapie of that type, and even that one is capable of enough power and accuracy to have accounted for numerous squirrels, chipmunks, starlings, and other small vermin at short (10-15 yards, typically) ranges. Spending more money will of course get you more velocity, accuracy, and durability, but mine's been fine for times and places where an actual firearm wasn't practical.

It's definitely not the most economical approach but a suppressed .22 can be quieter than a bb or pellet gun is using subsonic ammo, they are fairly quiet with standard or high velocity too.

IMO if you want a good bb or pellet rifle and not a plastic toy, you can spend the same and many times more than a decked out .22 rimfire with a suppressor and optics.

I just purchased (8-18-15) a Ruger Impact (Umarex) 22 caliber, 800 fps pellet gun from Wal Mart on mark down from $139.xx to $69/xx. It comes with a scope and mounts, that I have not yetattached.
I'm very pleased with it thus far...I've not got it sighted in, but it seems to be of very good quality.
