We ended up with these bulk grease storage tanks when we were working at a petroleum distributors facility. They are roughly 8ft x 9ft.Must be several thousand lbs of gease in them.

Dad use to buy riley brothers grease in a 5 gallon bucket. He filled his grease gun out of it, just sucked it full, then lightly tapped the bottom on something to settle it. Never will forget this, he filled it, and was tapping it to get it settled, and the plunger came out of the slot, a full gun of grease went flying into the newly ground tank of feed. I can't post here just what he said, but I didn't laugh either.

I'm not sure you can buy bulk grease in farm and auto parts dealerships anymore. I can remember buying it in 5 gal buckets but it all in paper or plastic tubes anymore.

Lube oil distributors bay still have it in bulk.

I always knew when the bucket of grease was about empty and needed to be "spooned" into the gun barrel. That's when someone always hunted me down to help them grease something. And heaven help you if you filled it with air pockets.

Someone gave me a 55 gal barrel of grease, with a lot left in it. I put it in 5 gal pails. I still fill my guns by hand. I still have one 5 gal pail left. I don't use that much. just the mower, and tractors. My disc bearings run in semifluid grease. Stan

Howdy,
Do you want to get rid of the tanks and grease?
Where you located?
Can you load onto a trailer?
What you lookin for out of em?

Even if you're too far for me,
I'm sure others would like to know,

There again, thousands of pounds,
maybe you're just goofin around.
Bet they would burn pretty, haha.

Please lmk, thanks

I live Charleston SC. I can load and I'd like to sell them if anyone is interested.

Small tubes are so easy to use and alot cleaner. I do fill out of a 35 gallon bucket and it should last a few more years.

Two days ago I was getting ready to burn an old shed, cleaning up the place. I made sure to salvage anything of use out of it. There was the hand pump that went on a 5 gallon can of grease. It had a fitting on it, and a corresponding fitting was screwed into the front of the grease guns. you pumped the gun full. It did give problems on occasion if you got air in it.

There were also two of the old fashioned pumps that transferred bulk oil out of 30 gallon or 50 gallon drums. We always used that till up in the 80's, kept our 30w motor oil in it.

Finally I came across the two hand pumps that went on our pick up fuel tank. We kept pumping ours by hand, long after others went to the fancy electric pumps.

I have no use for the stuff, but hated to throwit away either. So I kept it all.
