McCormick Hay Loader Value

Trying to help an older lady at finding a fair market value on a McCormick Hay Loader. Her father bought it new and would not let it set outside overnight. It has
always been shedded. Now she is interested in selling it. A local Amish gentleman offered $500. What do you think. No Hauling no advertising and no commission.
Thanks

(quoted from post at 10:25:06 08/08/15) That's more than the scrap man would pay; she better take the offer.

Take that offer and run!! A lot have been scrapped over the years.

Depends....Where at? The local Amish buy them up as fast as they appear! Around here - North Central Missouri - a broken down one that needs a lot of work will bring $750 - $900. A "field ready" one brings $1800-$2000. $500 is a STEAL!

Take some pictures and ask a local auctioneer if he has seen any similar ones sell lately, and what would be a fair price. Amish farms would probably be your best market, you might have to advertise in a local newspaper to reach them.

The Amish gentleman is probably willing to give a little more than he offered. I'd work on him. Ask more and meet somewhere in the middle. DO NOT let him get out of the yard with out writing a check. You have a buyer in hand. Yes, a nice clean well kept machine has value. BUT, not everybody wants one.

Yes they have been and that is why I cannot find any for the dealer I work with to put on his sales lot., No less than a thousand for one in that condition, perhaps even the two thousand.

DeltaRed, that is way low, Dealer I work with would give double that for one like that to put on his sales lot. And you know he would have to make a proffit on top of that.

I have seen two sell in the last year that where in good shape. The first was a 7 on 1-10 scale and it brought $2650. The last one was a solid 9 and it brought $4900. So I bet that the fellow would give her $500 for it. I would need to see some pictures to see if it is as good as the ones I have seen sell that high. A good working one that is not perfect will bring $1000-1500. So I would take pictures and advertise it. I am sure it will bring more than the $500 offered.
