OT, Jet Skis.... Need Help!

Hey guys, alright alright, I know, they are jet skis, NOT tractors, but, I still need help!!!

First of all, is anyone on here by chance a Kawasaki dealer, or have a manual for a 750SS PWC?

We have a 750SS PWC and a Seadoo SPI PWC. The sea doo has a bilge pump, that can be turned on and off from the dash. Normal.

Now, onto the trouble maker. . . The 750 is MUCH different! First of all, there is SO much stuff inside the hull, that a guy can't see - - - - in there!

The problem is, I found at the very back, INSIDE the actual Jet Housing, where the water is EXITING the pump/impeller. There is a piece, made into the housing. It is a hose connector. Like, one of those ones with a shoulder, where you just force the appropriate size hose over, and the bulge seals it. There is another one about 10 inches away, that just goes into the bottom of the hull? No hose/remnants on either of them.

EVERY time a guy takes this thing out, there is water in it, not much, like 1 or maybe 2 inches in the bottom, but still, there is water in it. Gas it, and it all goes away, sit at the beach for 4 hours, 1 inch of water again. Sits on the trailer over the weekend, gone.

It would seem to me, that there SHOULD be a hose between these two connectors, and it would create a "siphon" kind of situation. Where, when there was water blowing out the jet, the "suction" of the water blowing by the end of the hose, would in theory suck any water out of the hull, right?

Question is then, how would you keep water from just going IN when the machine is sitting?!?!

What do you guys think?? I can get a picture if it would help? I made a hose for it, and put it on, doesn't interfere with machine performance/functions....

Thanks, a LOT!!!! Bryce

Sounds like it is the bilge siphon. To keep water from coming back in, loop the hose as high as possible, get the top of the loop above the water line.

Jet pushing water out syphons water through a hose hooked to the barbed/bulged fitting. Kind of like removing the plug on an aluminum boat when full of water while moving. Or sand blaster and pressure washer syphon feed. Only works while moving. Should be a hose on there though. Should have a high loop like mentioned above to keep water out while parked. Like your differential vent on your 4x4 truck. Off the hose barb, up in the air, (maybe zip tied to something), then through the hole into the bilge.

reslls- I see this happen from time to time. Why did you respond to me? I did not post the question.

I hate jet skis!

I gave up water skiing at our local lakes and sold my boat because jet skis took over the lakes. The idiots on jet skis main addiction seemed to be harassing water skiers, and ski boats towing skiers. It was easy to imagine the jet skiers saying", Let's get drunk and harass water skiers".

After several serious accidents on the lake involving jet skis and other boats, and more close calls than I cared to remember, I hung it up.
