Here is a pic. of diesel engines going for re-building . The license plate on the truck was from Minnesota and it was parked in London Ont. when I was there on vacation last week .

Headin' south no doubt because of the exchange rate. Hope they leave some here, my old pelters may need one someday....

Too bad they wouldn't sell a rebuildable core
reasonable. I know that Worthingtons in Saint
John's near me wanted $1500 for an IH D282
core, no guarantee on the castings, and $2000
for an IH D239 core, once again, no guarantee
on the condition of castings. I guess want and
get are two different things though. Seems like
they told me a D407 core was priced around
$3500-4500, I was pretty sure it was the latter.
Sold my JD 8.1L? Powertech core, good
castings, for $300 about 7 years ago.

No EPA up there IIRC so they can likely rebuild them and use them.

My brothers company just did a full glider on his truck. They leased the engine! Apparently that is becoming a trend,rebuild has gotten so expensive here in the states that come rebuild time they just turn it back to the lease company and the engine fines a new life in the south!
