Shift lever issues with Jubilee

Not to sound funny but it basically came out in my hand while trying to shift. Had noticed it was higher than normal and not shifting correctly. Is this an easy fix or costly and time consuming??

Not sure if it is the same as an 8n, but if it is it is probably an easy fix. There is supposed to be a pin through the shift lever to keep it aligned and from turning that get worn bad. Sounds like yours is worn right off. You have to take the shift lever ball and the trans cover off. I just drive the old pin out of the lever and install the correct size roll pin and put it back together.

Are you refering to the pin that is protruding from each side of the ball/nuckle?? I have looked at the lever and some pictures online but don't see exactly what keeps it in place. On on schematic it shows what looks like a ring down below the spring. Could this be it?
