OT- Wasps / Yellowjackets

Didn't want to interfere with the below post. We are having a 'Bumper Crop' of wasps here (like everything this year at least a month early). Long story short - I have found a product that eliminates a LOT of wasps; 'Rescue -Yellow Jacket Traps - Trampa Para Avispas -Non Toxic- Made in USA (Spokane Wa. 1800 666 6766). If you follow the instructions carefully they are freakin' AWESOME. Couldn't sit on the piazza in the shade and have a beverage and read without annoyance 10 days ago. Put up 2 units - et voila!. $10 CDN per unit. HTH
 
Interesting co-incidence that I just spent some time this weekend vacuuming up a next of yellow jackets that were into the soffit/overhang area of my porch. A little too close for comfort so I had to get rid of them. Preferring to go chemical free I used the good old Rainbow vacuum. That way when they are picked by the vac they end up drowned in the water and are easily disposed. Just sit quiet and steady with the suction pipe at the entrance for a while and it sucks them up as the enter or exit the nest area. Use the long wand for safety. I can take a sting without life threatening reactions so far but I'd rather avoid it.
 
My dog catches them in his mouth. There was a nest under the peak of the roof on his house. I think he got them all as I don't see any anymore.
