Kubota gx vs JD D series

I am thinking about a 80-90 pto horsepower tractor. I am comparing the JD and Kubota. According to the JD website the 6105D matches up with M100gx. They have a few propaganda videos comparing the two. Naturally the JD wins in every video. Looking at the two though I would say the Kubota appears to match up closer to the fancier M series JD than the lower grade D series. I am trying to compare the machines as close as possible. I priced the JD set up the way I want and it hit $68,000. The Kubota was around $72,000. I would also like any opinions on either tractor if anyone has any.
My usage for this tractor is haying and feeding in the winter, spraying, and planting. It needs to do the chores my JD 2510 and 4010 do now but I'm sure not getting rid of them by no means. The summers are getting to hot and the winters are getting to cold anymore it seems. I believe in buying the machine with the best dealer support however I don't know who that is anymore. After the last independent JD dealer was forced to sell out to a mega dealer they went downhill fast. The service department has gotten worthless and the salesmen don't want to look at you unless your spending a couple hundred thousand. I would have to drive 70 miles to get to a different mega dealer and the couple times I've been there ended up getting treated worse. Kubota in this area I have one mega dealer and two smaller chain stores to go to. The big chain and one small chain also sell red equipment but most everything sitting on their lot is orange. I bought a Kubota RTV from one of them but other than filters I haven't had much to do with any of them. The RTV's been to reliable for me to see how their service department stands up.

The Kubota dealer here has the best service department out of all of them, hands down. I have not been in the John Deere, but from what I saw in the Kubota, I was impressed. There are lots of green tractors sitting on the Orange lot right now.

I was employed by a JD dealer from '66-'87. I've owned a JD 4255 since '93,owned/operated JD rd & sq balers but I bought a Kubota M7040 in '12 put over a 1000 hrs on it cutting/hauling hay with zero problems.

My biggest Kubota is only 52hp. I have brought 3 new Kubota's and 2 used ones and never owned a Deere. Everytime I go to buy a tractor I always check on a Deere too as deep down inside I always wanted one. The Kubota's always come in considerably cheaper and I have two dealers within 20 miles that are good to deal with. I have about eight Kubota Dealers within 50 miles of me and six Deere dealers. I have found I get good trade ins with my Kubotas as I switch out my tractors usually about every seven years. I'm sure the Deeres are good too on trade in. In your case dealer support would make a difference to me.

What ever you decide you will be happy with the year round cab and ask probably ask your self why you didn't get one sooner.

The local mega dealers in Walkerton and Listowel still treat myself and extended family with prompt friendly service . They either know what is required or they quickly find the answers .
The 2510 I would keep but the 4010 is just another early 60's tractor.
I would assume that Kubota would also be familiar with propaganda?

No sorry the 4010 has to much sentimental value. My dad bought that tractor new and loved it till the day he died. It's staying for as long as I'm around. That being said I would never buy another. It's still my most reliable tractor with 3,000 hours. It still gets used but gets washed and waxed more often than my truck. The 2510 is a great utility tractor so it's staying as well. It fits in some of my low sheds to get the equipment out better.

Please do not buy a 6000 D series John Deere. What an absolute piece of crap. It has a cramped 5000 cab on it and mechanical brakes.(Yes the same brakes that John Deere hasn't used in the last 50 years) They just went back to using them, exclusively for the 6000 D series. If you really want a 6000 Deere buy a 6105M. The D isn't even close to being comparable to the GX Kubota. This coming from a guy that works in one the the Deere dealers that B&D listed. The M's (and like wise the R's) are a very nice tractor. On an open station 6105M, you can still get a mechanical Power Quad.(like a 6410) I'm almost 100% sure that you can't on a cab model.

Take a look at the Case/IH Farmall 95.. CHA, loader new is about 57K Turbo'd 4 cyl sips fuel.Had a few problems the first year with mine with the AC, and lighting, Warrantee took care of those.

I bought a 135 last July , and liked it so well I bought a 100 dec/15 as well. These tractors have a very comfortable cab with large doors and good visibility . Both tractors have preformed well so far, and are good cold starters. For extra comfort ,get radial tires, gives a smooth ride acrossed a hay field. Bruce
