We finished second crop haylage on Friday. We chop with a 4520 with a 4620 engine,3940 harvester and 714a,125 and 122 chuck wagons. We have a silage bagger with a seven ft tunnel that we run with the 4230. Yield was good but it took a long time to dry.We did dry bale one field of small squares for a neighbors horses. Tom

That has to be a noisy setup to run. Those canopies seem to make everything louder, then the straight pipe and chopper on top of it.

I small bale all my hay. My 2nd cut alfalfa / grass is now at least 1 1/2 weeks past cutting it, with no end in sight of this cloudy weather.

The 4520 with a turbo and strait pipe is quieter to operate than a 4020 that is working hard. Deere forage harvesters are much quieter than many of the others as well. I like the roll guards as it is much cooler than setting on a fender tractor and cooking. There are a few days spring and fall when I wish it was off. Tom

That's a nice lookin setup! reminds me of my childhood friend and I playing- we pooled our 1/16th scale toys for that same 'matching' configuration. Probably the same models as yours. Thanks for sharing.

Did Deere make their own silage wagons or were they rebranded from someone else (like New Holland were the same as Badgers and IH were Kasten's I think??)
