Brush hogging

What would be a fair price for mowing with a 15 ft bat wing mower with a 135 horse tractor per hour and or by the acer?

I have a 100 minim charge. After that its 60 per hour with 30 hp. compact and 5 footer hog. 75 per hour with 50 hp. and 6 footer. I will usually give them an approx. charge before I start. I normally go a little high on the bid. It seems like they want to add a little this and that after I show up is why I go high. If they don't change any thing when I show up they are happy when I knock a few bucks of the final bill.
With your larger equipment I would charge by the acre or the job depending upon what your cutting. As we know there's a big difference in cutting a horse pasture as opposed to land with brush growing and hasn't been touched in 10 years.

Might want a contract with something in it to protect you from expenses if you hit something in a field they said was all clear !

Protect yourself and charge by the hour. Heavier crops take more time...field conditions vary from field to field, so a per acre charge is hard to determine unless you have a lot of experience. I get $75 an hour with an 8', sometimes I add $5 for fuel if the field is really overgrown. A 15' mower in heavy growth is gonna make your tractor drink a lot of fuel....light cutting I would say $100 an hour minimum. Also, don't think you are going to cut twice as fast with a 15 as an 8...the wider you get the more stuff you are going to hit, and probably a lot more maintenance cost.
