Hey guys my f12 is getting hard to start crank it over by hand just a few times and I just floods real bad gas starts dripping out of the tube by the govener.up till now it started real easy any advice would be great.

If the gas is on, just sitting, does fuel drip from the carb? If so, it is flooding. Could be trash in the needle/seat, float sunk, or just set too high.

If it only drips after a failed start, that is normal for an updraft carb.

Might take a look at the ignition, starting with a set of plugs if you haven't already replaced them. Also wires, points, rotor, cap, anything ignition related can result in hard starting.

The F12's have a down draft carb that sits higher than the gas tank so what you're saying can't be so. I believe the return line on the front top of the tank is clogged. That or a loose seat in the carb.

(quoted from post at 19:34:46 07/06/15) You're right! Should have checked that, what I get for assuming...
Sorry!
Thanks for the help. Got it running not for sure what I did but hey it runs not going to complain.

My 1939 F-14 would some time spit gas out that breather (on the hood) that was plumbed into the gas line to the carb then gas would flow all
over the top of the hood and tank. I was a bit concerned when this happened. Only did it twice while I owned the old Farmall.
