OT Not the best weekend.

I backed into the car of a friend of my daughters Saturday, a little paint on the super duty bumper, a lot of damage on Toyota.

A person learning to drive baler today bent a wagon tongue all up.

The second cut of hay was really a bust.

At least no one got hurt.

You're right, at least no one was hurt. We've all had weekends like that. I feel for you, sometimes it takes a while to go the other way, but it will turn around.

Try this - my friend of many years decides to go into town to see the fireworks. Gets his girlfriend in the car along with her sister and niece. Almost there, and (ready for this????) gets rear-ended by a minivan doing about 2-1/2 times the speed limit. I get a call from the hospital where they all landed. Never did see the fireworks.
Girlfriend is hospitalized for potential bleeding on the brain. Sister of gf is hospitalized for a serious concussion. Niece of gf has a dislocated hip with a bone chip, and will be requiring months of rehab.
Crash occurred right in front of the police station with a number of cops as witnesses.
The questions that remain:
1) Why was the van going so fast?
2) What was the condition of the driver? Texting? Drunk? Otherwise incapacitated?
3) Why did the driver not see the nearly stopped car in front?

What a terrible accident! It just shows that no matter how good a driver or how careful you are, an inattentive or speeding driver can take you out in a heartbeat .

man that sucks . i had a crappy weekend myself was getting ready to go on a 3 day camping trip/ horse ride was just getting ready to leave and horse spooked and got into some metal and knocked the toe off one hoof pretty lame but i dont think any broken bones i hope .

David your just enjoying the typical farm life. LOL It seems like I days/weeks that I would be better off to never get out of bed.

Keep swing for the fences you will do better in the future. It was just your turn in the barrel this weekend.

It gets better. We had just put in a replacement engine and transmission this spring.
BTW, that is not a compact. It _WAS_ a Mercury Sable.

Mine stank too. Wrecked my new Dodge truck, flat on the tractor, mice ate the wires through that ran to inside the tongue of the boat trailer, someone hit the wife's new Fiat in a parking lot, grandson caught himself while fishing, and it just goes on. What a way to start a 2 week vacation. Was real close to just loading up and going home. This was all Saturday.
JIMG, hope no long term effects and everyone recovers quickly. Got whiplash 15 yrs ago and neck still isn't right.

Well, the only good news was that I found out someone broke the taillight off motorcycle, and I noticed it before getting a ticket. I can not find any debris here, so do not know when or where it was broken. I can only assume someone backed into me.

I got hit like that when I was 18, I am 55 now, and have had pain in my neck and upper back every day since then. The surgeon looked at my MRI a couple years ago when I blew out a disc and said "what a mess". I just had fixed what needed to, and am waiting for replacement parts to improve.

If you'll look at my response time, you will see that I was responding to David G's original post, shortly after he posted it.
