Checking oil in York AC compressor?

How does one correctly check oil in a York AC compressor after coolant is removed? I'm aware one can shut off comp service valves to isolate comp but my tractor only as one because one valve was eliminated during switch to 134A before I bought tractor. I'm also aware of check plug in the side of compressor crankcase but don't know how much oil is correct.
Thanks,Jim

There is a special dipstick for checking the oil. It is a service tool. Basically a curved wire with marks near the end. I could measure mine tonight if no one else does before.

I forget if it is the parts book or the shop manual but I remember seeing instructions to make your own in a CASE book. For
either a 2290 or 2294. The book even has a template you can lay your homemade dipstick over. If you can get ahold of one of
these books it may be of help.

Oil level for a York is from 7/8th to 1 1/8th inch. I usually refill with about 10 ounces and not to hard to make a dip stick.
