chev 6.5 again

SURE, you might want to take the dodge out of park first ( to keep from blowing out the tires after dragging it a mile or so)

(quoted from post at 12:56:33 06/27/15) Can a Chevy 6.5 pull this?

t'll pull it no pain.
Pulling it is not the question,....stopping it is.

Will it pull it? Yes. If you are currently pulling it with the Cummins truck in the picture, will you be disappointed and frustrated? Yes. 6.5 will get the job done, slowly. A Cummins they aren't. Ask yourself if a 350 gasser can pull it. 6.5 has about the same power as a 350 Vortec, just better mileage. That is what it was designed to do. Expecting it to be a rip snorting torque monster will leave you disappointed.

Not all of the 6.5's get better fuel milage as I once owned a 2000 6.5,auto,4WD,4.10 gears model that would only get 13 mph no load on it's very best day. But I pulled a lot more weight with it than that load of hay. The '83 model 6.2,4WD,granny 4 sp,4.10 would get 16.5 empty

Yes it will pull it, but by the time you get it to the field gate and up the first hill the temperature gauge will hitting 255. Then you pray for a long down hill to get it to cool down some (and to get it moving).

If you really want to get the job done, put that load behind a class 8 truck. The Dodge, Chevy, and Fords will run off and hide.
