Use to be something you thought was cute. Never saw very many but I got as mother with a couple pups on my property. They're real nice to look at but they're screwing with my wife's cat. The cat is a mean (sob) but my wife is worried. She (my wife) doesn't want me to shoot them. What would you do? Don't want the DEC on my property.

I had to change the word (female dog) (sob) to clear the filter.

A few years ago a scroungy old fox was around the yard now and then, then I noticed three young ones in an old quarry on the next road over, then they all moved in to an old shed on my neighbors property but they hung out in my yard. One got hit by a car, the mother and one of them disappeared and the last one ate hot dogs, almost out of my hand, for a couple weeks until he showed up dead on the driveway one morning, not a good hotdog testimonial I guess.

Very rare to see a red in my area. I've had a grey eating table scraps for 3 yrs., has gotten quite tame. It's your call, but I certainly would not kill it, just to kill it.

We have a den with 4 kitts in it across the road from us. The mother has had litters like that for a number of years now. I mowed the field today and two of them sat on the bank next to their den and watched me.
We like them around, because they prowel the gardens and keep our rodent problems to a minimum. Our female cat is out everyday, and they haven't bothered her.

We have some nearby too. We leave them alone but I don't want them getting too chummy either. I have seen them with rabies and they just seemed extra tame until they tried to walk and staggered and fell. Keep your critters nnalert! If you see one acting funny, time to get a rifle.

The kits are incredibly cute, nothing but puppies really. The adults are good looking also if they don't have mange.I like having them around but not if I had poultry.I've seen them run off with baby 'chucks as well as mice and moles.I'm told they can take birds but I've never seen it.

I think they like me. I found a dead red squirrel behind my pickup last night. I hate the little sob's. They get into my house in the fall. If the fox and her kitts kill squirrels they can stay.

have quite a few of the red ghosts in my area too.
(much better than coyotes)
If they den up too close to the house, you don't have to hurt em.
Just bother them daily and they will move.
Under an arborvitae 10 feet from my deck once.
I just rooted around under there daily for a week or two and they moved out.
Keep an eye on them for mange or during a rabies outbreak.

If food is plentiful, a fox usually won't take on a mean cat or dog.
In winter, or if the cat bothers the den....another story.

Keep an eye on them for mange or during a rabies outbreak.

In most cases where I have seen adult foxes in broad daylight, they have had either rabies or bad case of mange or both.

This one was around my area for 4 or 5 days a couple of years ago. Perfectly healthy but was not shy like your typical fox.Very unusual behavior!
I found him sitting in my driveway (a half mile away) a day after this pic was taken hunting for mice in the grass.

I had a den of them years ago in the woods near the driveway and as I pulled in at night I would see them regularly in the headlights.
Those little ones are cute as el when they're playing!
