Will my Case 930 handle this spreader? Made the
deal on this spreader back in Febuary , it came
yesterday. Turned in my Nh 185and 520 spreaders
on this one. Bought the 185 new 17 years ago, and
gave $10500. For it. They gave me $6500. and
$2500. for the old 520. The hagondorm cost
&26,000. Ouch!! Here's hoping I can pull it.

Hope you have your 930 weighted well. Last time I tried to pull 1 that big, first thing it did was make the front end light, then about the time all the weight got behind the axles, it picked the back end of the tractor up, and there I sat!!

Ladt year I pulled a bigger one than that with a 2-85 white so your 930 will handle that as long as you stay out of the mud. The one I pulled would make the white work tho because it unloaded fast so you also had to drive fast. Here is a pic of what I'm tslking about.

I don't see why your 930 won't handle it. It's not THAT big compared to some of the big spreaders I see today. We had a 6X12 Kelly Ryan that I pulled behind a 1070 and I felt I could pull a lot bigger one than what I had. Yours will handle maybe twice as much as that Kelly Ryan the way it looks in your pic. You might have to load accordingly.

Based on what happens over here :-

If the tractor driver is under 25 years old he:-

a - will want 250HP and under 2 years old
b - must fully computerised with screen
c - auto drive so he can use his cell phone whilst driving
d - 2 flashing beacons
e - 2 whippy aerials on the roof
f - radio blasting out music
g - CB to boast how fast he is driving
h - be paid in cash without income tax

recognise the this type of driver?

Bruce, drop down to Rod's post on the Case forum, and see pics of how to make the brakes work on your 930. Good advise and they will work very nicely.

Hmmmm... Sounds strikingly similar to me....

a - I NEVER get what I want there! :p

b - a cab would be great

c - driveable would be greater

d - work lights are always nice

e - a ROOF??? AWESOME!

f - a nice muffler so that I can still hear at the end of the day!?!

g - happy to still be driving if/when I see someone else!

h - cash... YA, now we are talking! :)

By the way I am looking for work! Give me a buzz! :p

Holy Cow, you got them jersey's squirtin out gold! Good looking spreader, they seem to be a heavy duty unit. Only problem with a new spreader is after the first load it is covered in cow poo. HEHE

I"ve got a John Deere hydrapush spreader about the same size as yours. I pull mine all the time with a 4010 JD. Mud and hills are your only concern. You'll be fine.

Bruce a 930 will be marginal size wise and hydraulic capacity wise. We have a 195 New Holland and a 1066 is full on worked ground so our 7120 magnum usually gets the job. All you can do is give'er a try and see if you like it.

You are going to be happy with that purchase. As far as pulling you will do ok on solid ground with little slope. I purchased the first 600 bushel hydra push spreader that our dealer ever sold and could pull it easily with 135 horse. However it takes weight to hold one of those back on the hills. Our dealer brought a demo unit with vertical beaters on the same load. Fi9rst demo was in the hills with a Deere 7810 mfwd. It jack knifed going down hill and really did some damage. Only problem with hydra push is all your weight is transferred to the rear when 2/3 unloaded. Make sure you are able to lock that drawbar pin in as they will bounce anything you have right out. Enjoy

Bruce I sold Hagedorn spreaders. Yours will not be too bad on making the tractor light. That 227 is a shorten version of the 275/277s. With them your really had to watch when the load got to behind the axles. On your 227 100 HP will pull it fine just watch turning on down hill slopes.

Those Hagedorn spreaders are tough and simple. You will get a lot of use out of it.
