I seam to be running into dead ends, just bought this old guy with 1357 hours on the meter, the books that came with the tractor say HD5 2725/Engine 2A5627 Allis Chalmers Tractor
With this information I was told it is a 1959 ? don't know , he fires right up and moves dirt with the 8' blade up front. He sits on Tracks,,
Anyone know where or who carries parts for this guy ?
Having a hard time finding a Petcock valve under the fuel tank (Diesel ) motor is a 2 cyl GM and a oil hose with the right connecters from oil Pressure gauge to oil filter line.

If 2725 is the serial number, it was made in early 1948. HD5's were only made from 1946 to 1955, so what you were told is wrong.

Parts may be available from AGCO, but more likely from a salvage yard. They were a pretty good crawler. We had an HD7 that had a 3 cylinder GM engine.

Basically there it's like the old TD IH crawlers. Parts are NLA for the most part. The worst is undercarriage/track parts and transmission parts. They haven't been supported in years. When AC sold out the construction division to Fiat, Fiat didn't see the need to support stuff AC made.

Don't feel bad about the year you thought it was. If it were a car years may make some difference. I would go by the hour meter, and general wear on the whole machine. Those older A/C's go on for a long time. Stan
