Diesel Shutdown

I have a Kubota L245 and a Massey Ferguson Super 90, to shut them down, I activate linkage that goes to the injector/governor. I would like to know exactly what this does. I suspect it either shuts off fuel to the pump, or relieves the pressure to the injectors.

Thanks for your information.

It often controls the injection amount to zero. Shutting off the fuel, or restricting it can be nasty. Jim

From what I remember in the old Mack engines on the American Bosch pumps (haven't been in one in over 15 years!), it pulled the fuel rack back to zero fuel delivery.
