Another Raven Mower Issue

Has anyone had a this problem with a Raven mower? Motor starts normally, mower deck DOES engage (in neutral). But as soon as I press the direction to forward; the motor shutters, the deck stops spinning and the motor continues to run. If I actually step on the accelerator to move forward - the motor simply dies.

I am wondering if the may be a balance issue with the blades. I did hit a rock about 20 minutes before it actually quit working. I do feel a slight vibration when the blades are spinning.
 
Raven, I dont know. But one of my mowers [ maybe both, I forget ] does something similar, if I hit a big bump the blades stop. I push in the knob, pull it out again and it starts mowing again. Buddy of mine showed me simple way to balance blades; remove blade, use round-shaft screwdriver in bench vise, held horizontal, and balance the blade on that. Grind off a little of whichever side leans down, until you get perfect balance.
 
Just a guess, but I would look for an electrical problem. Like a safety switch out of adjustment, pinched
wire, something vibration related.
