Hi, am new here, am having trouble with Ford 6640 Tractor cutting out, had fuel filter changed recently, "thinking this was issue. Is Cutting out after 2 hours use and usually on the turn especially if steering brakes applied. Running temperature never goes over 82 degrees.........but motor does stop at this point.

Was hoping someone could diagnose this problem. Thanks.

Welcome to YT! Are you fueling it up before each use? The two hour thing makes me think of fuel line sucking air once the front tank gets low. I had a similar situation last summer. I snugged all the connections and the problem went away.

Thanks, will check connections in morning, and yes i make sure theres always 1/3 tank before filling up....just in case, though i ment to add that the tractor will not start again , untill it has sat overnight in the cold.

now it is starting to sound like a worn pump. How many hours?

Hi, so were not sure how many hours, going on other issues like throttle cables breaking, tie rod end snapping, am starting to think it may be Pump also, thanks for your insight.

Welcome to YT!
Check to be sure that check valve in fitting(parts key 6) isn't partially plugged causing pressure in inj pump body to get too high. Have you checked for good fuel flow from tank to inj pump?
