EVAPORUST ??????????

i have a situation with a very rusty transmission in a old homemade tractor I have. how the tractor is built it would take too long to pull it and rebuild. i'm going to show it and not work it. It was suggested to me to drain the solvent out of it,rinse with,soap, and water. After drying,fill it with the Evaporust for 24 hours. Opinions? experiences? other product recomendiations?

I use the stuff and it works but I have never put it inside a trans.

Gees, how much fluid does it hold. I think if would take a fortune to fill the trans with evaporust.

I have used a lot of it, and it works. I would never use it on something that I could not properly wash it off of, especially parts like those inside a transmissioN. Take it apart first.

I would be concerned that anything that evaporates rust would be very hard on bearings. Assuming that you can't get the top off, I would put fuel in it to the standard level then just operate it with lots of starts stops turns up down and across hills, then drain, flush with fuel, then refill with gear oil.
