Ray, Split a short piece of vacuum hose and use weather strip adhesive on the back side to cover that dagger up for your safety so you don't do it again.

Well I got a 2013 in the garage and I couldn't figure out what you were talking about so I went out and got in , still don't know what your talking about. I like mine.

The 2013 is probably the old body style. The late 2014's had the 2015 body style.

Nope, there's some lawyer's winning lottery ticket. Get lots of people spiked by those things, file some huge class action suit.... GM, get ready, here comes the next one.

Don't you just love it, the way they build the trucks without ever driving them? My 2000 silverado's steering wheel perfectly blocks the bright lights indicator light for any average sized person. The emergency brake petal is located so that only a jackrabbit can operate it & the hood release is where the emergency brake release ought to be.

I like my 2013 but liked my 05 better. More common sense design with the 05, you could have the headlights and grill out in about 7 minutes the 2013 you either have to have a tiny hand or tear half the frontend off to change a headlight bulb. The interior of the 05 had better storage options also. However I had no trouble with the 05 and so far nothing with the 2013. Both duramax.

That's what the tilt steering wheel is for. When I get a new vehicle the first thing I do is adjust the wheel so I can see the gauges. Then it never moves again.

Well sir I have exactly the same problem when in town running around 20 to 40. Above that I can see. I like my tilt all the way down but in town I raise it 1 notch and it solves the problem then back down when I leave. If I were the normal height for a man, rather than 6'5" I wouldn't be having that problem.

Other problem my height causes is the rear view mirror getting in the way when you want to make a sweep of traffic ahead and slightly to the right when making a left hand turn off a right hand curve. I like the RVM and don't want to be without it where it is, but none the less, it gets in the way. If I were shorter I could see under it naturally.

However, the 2011 seats are really comfortable; well the whole driver's position is very comfortable and I LOVE the automatic position on the headlights.

Same problem with SWMBO's Toyota van. Can't see the speedo to know if I'm doing 30 or 90. Moving the wheel not an option. Too low already and higher its like a bus with the wheel almost flat.

Yup, GM at one time had a great idea, they had heads up displays on some vehicles, it was a digital readout that displayed on the bottom side of the windshield, it was great, probably why they no longer do it...

The steering wheel is in my way on everything I drive. When I'm at road speed, I lower it to see the top of the speedo, and when I slow down, I raise it up to see the lower speeds. Mine moves real easy - there's a little tab on the left side of the column that releases the latch.

I bump my head on that rear door latch bar just above the passenger seat on my 2000 Silverado. I keep forgetting it's there.

Ray,
Yowsers! I'm sure it was because some design guy liked the design look better than rounded doors. Design guys rule at automakers. Engineers have to cram stuff in to satisfy their sometimes idiotic ideas. Spent a lot of time in meetings rolling my eyes listening to some designer insist on something that we said did not make sense or would make manufacturing difficult. Maintainability? They could care less. That's why we've seen batteries in the wheel well of cars and other such nonsense.

my chevy sick 5 doors are falling off and had pins replaced once already has 230000 miles my 98 dodge with 240,000 doors are in a lot better shape and actually still work . was at the mechanic shop back in the 90s and a chevy door had fallen off they were glued on

I like my 08 siverado except for the accelerator position, get cramps in my leg. i am so used to my 92 silverado. If I could buy a new one of them I sure would.

GM dealer I recently retired from after 40 years just got a superior customer satisfaction award, 301 out of 4300 dealers got it. They pushed customer satisfaction hard. We couldn't have done anything to make you happy. What did you drive before that you fit perfectly in, get another one. Nice job GM

I looked at fords, but you have to get out of the truck to turn on the 4x4,they have a lot smaller screen in the dash for radio controls unless you buy the higher lariat model. GM has onstar, a far better system than ford or dodge have.
