Last Acre Planted

Today, did the last field for 2015. Its been a long spring with no weather breaks for rain so I'm done in good time. Always
like to be finished planting by the 24th. It doesn't always happen but this year it did. The mud is drying up some and the
temp hit 80 today. Took this shot with the Gopro today.

Good job, Rusty. It has been a good spring compared to the past few years. I finished up this past Wednesday except for patching in some sloughs as they dry up. There's still quite a bit of flooded ground around here from last year but it's drying out. Did you end up losing much to water this spring?

In the spring of 1950 in ND, we were able to get into the fields for the first time on Memorial Day. It still turned out to be a good crop year, in spite of the late start.

Its been a funnny spring Jim. Water levels are higher than last year in most places, yet in others I am seeding right through
where cat tails grew last year. The field I did yesterday made just about 41 acres. We used to always call it the Northwest 60
acres before the floods. Amazing that I only got stuck and had to un hitch the air seeder once. I think those 7000 hour
Goodyears are about due for replacement.

We have yet to get in the field and it rained another three inches last night. I may have to take prevented planting on some of it and you know how much that helps.

Good for you! Always nice to be done "on time". I planted two small fields of corn yesterday - the first planting I've been able to do since I finished oats on the 5th. 31 acres of corn to go, and 22 acres of barley to squeeze in somewhere for my cousin.
