Trimmer update

Thanks for the advise guys.
Went back to the dealer today and decide to get the Echo SRM 225.

The guy took it out back; filled it with gas; and run it to make sure everything was working properly.
Then he went threw how to put new string in; how to start it; common problems like it may be cold natured because they run the motors lean to meet emission laws. ECT.............

Then I asked about the warranty.
His comment was.....
To be truthful it has a 5 year warranty on mechanical defect on everything except the carburetor.

"Echo's position on carburetors are.....
Quote..........
Mechanical defect problems with carburetors should be seen in the first few hours of running trimmer.
Problems with the carburetor noticed 2 to 3 months after purchase are most likely the fault of bad gasoline.
The use of ethanol gasoline is not considered a mechanical defect"

So when I got home I read the manual to see what it said about ethanol gasoline.
They do say E10 is allowed. Most likely because it would be hard to sell a trimmer in the United States that could not use E10.
They do add wording to cover their butt though.
They recommend the use of Echo Power Fuel that is 93 octane non ethanol gasoline for longer engine life.
They go on to state fuel ages so do not store fuel over 30 days and DO NOT store a unit with fuel in its tank.

Oh well. I was not planning on using ethanol gas in it anyway.
