I am looking to upgrade from a 1997 GMC 2500 to a 2009 Ford 150 to pull my tractor hauling trailer. I was surprised when I looked for the trans dipstick and found there was none. They told me that the transmission had a sight glass for checking fluid in it. Anybody know much about these automatic trans and how they hold up and what sort of fluid and maintenance they require. How well do they hold up under normal sensible use?

First I've heard of a sight glass on a F150 X/MIS.but maybe.What engine,what trans.?I think there were 2 auto trans. available then,a 4 speed and a 6 speed.The 6 spd. is preferred.How heavy is the loaded trailer?
