I have a 2011 9540 Kabota that the paint job is just awful. It has faded something awful. It sits inside of shed all of the time and has only 850 hours on it or so. Does anyone out there have the same problem and if so have you checked in on getting any positive results. Just wondering if it is a lost cause to pursue a new paint job. I have mentioned it to a dealer up here in my area but didn t get a big response. Thanks

Are the panels actually metal or are they plastic/fiberglass?? IF they are plastic/fiberglass then the color is actually part of the product and painting is not a good option. You say that the finish has faded over time when it has been stored in side. That is not normal but have you waxed or used any other protective products on the finish?? These type of products will help keep the shine and color. There are products out there that will sometimes restore the shine on the plastic/fiberglass. We will need more information as to what you have to really recommend what to use.

Man, I hate to hear this. I just bought a new Kubota L2501 FEL/4x4 a couple of weeks ago and expect it to look great for many years, as these dang things cost about like a new car now. :x

The "bean counters" at these (and any) factories will do anything , including changing paint suppliers, to save a dime or two. They use such a volume of paint that a bidding war ensues and paint suppliers will do anything (including lying) to get the contract. They want "cheap" they will get cheap. Soon as they see why it was cheap (usually 1-2yrs) they go through it all again. Have seen it first hand and have had it done even with warnings from paint shop supervisor. "Bean counters" set the quality of everything. They could give a da--mn about the end user or consumer.

I don't know if it's the same paint or not, but a neighbor lady bought a nice new Kubota mail box last year and asked me to set it on the post. She bought it because she liked the orange paint. Within three months the mailbox was yellow.

Anyone numb enough to try to do business that way would not even make it into a position of responsibility.

Dennis Something not right, Guess we have sold over 300 of the 40 series and paint problems are not something I have had. We are in Tennessee and many tractors sit outside. Several years ago we got some wheels from titan that faded bad but as JD seller says the plastic sometimes looses some of it,s shine but for most part the metal stays as good as anybody else tractor. Get the owner of the dealership where you bought it involved, ask him to get his KUBOTA rep to look at it. KUBOTA is usually pretty good at responding to customer complaints.

I can tell you haven't worked in many factories. In the paint departments , this is very common MO. You see all the "pink" fire hydrants in many towns?? Bean counters/administrative engineers aren't painters but they do call the shots in purchasing.

Hi Randy
I know a guy that used to work as a mill wright at a factory making paint for JD. He also told me they made the Jobber paint for one of the parts company's there to. He said the ingredients for the genuine was way better than the jobber was. He said the jobber paint would of been better if it was just the equipment washings between batches, from what he saw and the paint guys told him about it while he was working. I guess some big companys use the jobber cheap stuff now right from the start!!!!! .
Regards Robert

sounds unusual
I traded in a 07 last year, paint was like new, except for the peeling safety stickers.
I did wax the flat surfaces, hood, tops of fenders regularly.
(looked funny...tractor covered in dirt..shiny hood...hey it's what [b:48c1ef17f8]I[/b:48c1ef17f8] see as I'm driving)

My new one, paint seems fine....except not happy with not completely painted areas...where you can't see.
(I crawl everywhere under it checking stuff.)
rollbar was also painted after assembly. Removing the top foldable half meant a trip to the dealer for some paint.
(safety police....some backhoe work in low places needed the rollbar folded down...not possible sitting in the BH seat)
