Husqvarna Riding Mower Update

Thanks again for all the help on this topic. Got a brand new battery today and it starts like brand new. I could not understand why the jump start process didn't work, but I read where mj mentioned jump starting won't work if the battery has a short or is open, at least I think that is what he said.

Made sense because I charged my old Oliver battery and when it didn't work I tried to jump start and that didn't work either. Then I took a battery off my other tractor and the Oliver started no problem.

Anyway, just letting all the curious people know how it turned out.

Thanks again. I will probably post another question about that Oliver 1755 tonight.

Some jump starters won't work if battery is dead ( I had one like that). You can fool it if you put battery charger on battery and than hook up jump starter it will then work.

The only way that I ever learned about 'jump starting' was to DISCONNECT the ground from the 'home' battery, and connect the cables to the pos on the home bat and neg to the free one. Home battery does not come into play.
