The Blueridge Mountains are beautiful.I have been through them 8 or 10 times and like to take two lane highways when I go through them.I have tried to talk wife into moving to the foothills of the mountains and buy a place with 100 arces with aa stream running throuh it but I don't think it will ever happen.

if you can talk your wife into moving to a place with a hundred acres, PLEASE tell us how you did it, my wife would hold her breath if I told her to breath

"PLEASE tell us how you did it, my wife would hold her breath..."

All depends on your relationship.

My wife followed me from Denver and her family to near the Blue Ridge, to live on top of a smaller mountain. With annual Denver trips, she's fine, until a bear sticks its nose to a window. She's not a gun fan, but sure enjoyed the wild turkey we had for dinner last night.

Deep pockets if you could pay for 100 ac near me. Just down the road 21 ac homesites are $500,000. We did a LOT of land-shopping around the US before settling here. If we'd found a better place for us, we would be there. If land-shopping today, we wouldn't be here. But life here is great, including the neighbors.

thanks for the comments, this is in Rappahannock County, VA. Land here is pricy, lot of weekend farmers from the DC area. I also will have a bear looking in the window, but Newman my guard cat chases them off.

Hayseed, the fourth picture is a calendar shot for sure! I love those scenes with clouds (or fog) raising from low areas like that. Have seen quite a few in real life also. Beautiful country!

Great photos. I have a friend in Rappahannock, on Poor House Road. I guess most counties have a Poor House Road... One here too. He talked me into bringing my equipment there to cut in his driveway. Real interesting county, with your proximity to DC. The choices made regarding minimum parcel size and commercial use reflect that. Even dealing with VDOT there was unlike here, three counties south.

Don't know if you're inclined, but bear's right tasty.

My wife is from Richmond and still has family near Manquin. We've made several trips back there and one evening, driving back to Richmond from her uncle's farm at sunset I was inspired, by what my eyes were taking in, to brand the whole area as 'Gentle Country'. I hope to make another trip to that beautiful place (God willing) and. please. keep the pictures coming :)

Hi TF, that was taken from 211, not far from 231. Just East of Sperryville.
This JD with the rake was taken from F.T. Valley road
