Staining pine boards for fence

I am putting up some 3 inch by 12 inch by 16 foot rough cut pine boards they are all dry. I just need to clean the dust off them and stain them. My question is what oil base stain is best to use? I am going to use solid color stain but what brand. I think stain will last longer than paint.

Some years ago I built a new log home with a wood fence around it. To protect the log home I treated the logs and fence with a log oil diesel mix. I applied this by spraying it on with a hand Hudson weed sprayer. It lasted for years here in north central Id. snow country, and sure was easy to apply and not too costly.

I built a 1x6 rail fence 30yrs ago painted it got tired of scraping and repainting. took it down about 10 yrs ago and rebuilt with rough 1x6 doug fir used Olympic semitransparent stain holding up great when it fades I can just touch it up without scraping.

i've been useing the black fence paint from tsc, populer boards been up for 12 years been painted twice
