Ship to Canada?

Hi. Hoping somebody here can answer this for me as the contact on the YT ordering page hasn't responded to my email.

Here is a quote from their page: "Sorry, we do not ship parts outside of the USA."

Is that a fact? Can I not have a part shipped to Canada?

TIA

Thanks, but some people don't see it that way. From Wikipedia:

"The United States and Canada have the largest trade relationship in the world.[1] In 2012, U.S. merchandise trade with Canada consisted of US$324.2 billion in imports and US$292.4 billion in exports.[2] The trade relationship between the two countries crosses all industries and is vital to both nations’ success as each country is the largest trade partner of the other."

It's just kind of annoying to be treated as a vassal because someone can't be bothered dealing with a complaint or two. A simple disclaimer should cover it. I get stuff from China occasionally: sometimes it takes a week, sometimes it takes a month or more. I know the situation. I would prefer it if people didn't assume everyone was the same because of the actions of a few others. How would you feel if the rest of the world treated every American the same way because of the actions of a couple of extreme individuals? I know that's a bit extreme but it is the same principle.

It's tough finding stuff for these tractors up here - we don't even have a CNH dealer anywhere near us. And there are no tractor supply houses or any of the other outlets that are always mentioned on these forums. I had never heard of Harbor Freight before I started reading here. And now we're shut out of one of the best places on the web to get parts apparently because some individual who can't be bothered answering "contact us" emails can't be bothered dealing with customer complaints which must be assumed come with the territory. Problems that are not even theirs to begin with so they don't even really have to do anything about them.

1: Why would you want TSC and harbor freight when you have Princess Auto?

2: I am sure there are plenty of CNH dealers in Canada that are willing to ship.

3: Sometimes it is not worth the bother to deal with cross border sales. If the
volume is not there it just isn't worth it.

Shipping items to Canada can be a real expensive thing to do. The fees charges on packages of farm equipment parts can be more than the parts are worth.

A friend has a brother that lives in Canada. The brother called me about a hydraulic control valve I had that would fit his tractor. I wanted $400 for the valve, mounts and control cables/joystick. The valve weighed 75 LBS. It was going to cost me over $250 to ship it to him. It was 600 miles to him from me. I could have shipped it to Los Angles for less than half of that amount and LA is much further.

If I ran a business I would not bother shipping to another country either. Just too much trouble to fool with customs and such.

I have talked to Kim about this. The
problem is various items for sale are
dropped shipped directly from manufacturers
around the USA, and they don't want the
hassle of dealing with customs. She is
trying to get it all sorted out.
The comment about Canada Post,i disagree.
Canada Post,Puralator and other Canadian
delivery companies are far and away much
better then UPS,USPS and other companies i
now refuse to deal with out of the states.

Thanks to all who posted relevant attempts to be helpful and constructive. I think I'm over it now. I'll be ok in a few minutes. :)

Hi
How far are you from the U.S border. I buy a lot of parts from the states Non of it crosses the line with a U.P.S type courier due to hassle with brokerage or there stupid fee's, some smaller stuff comes U.S mail at sensible prices though. we use a U.S based drop shipping guy just across the line. He charges $5 for small packages, and upwards depending if a fork lift is needed or the compound for storage of anything with wheels on. If guys won't ship to him and courier to Canada's the only option I buy someplace that will do it!. Had a gift come U.P.S once they decided it was worth $700 by the time I paid them for it coming to Canada

He emails then we cross the border with receipts , pick the stuff up, drive back across the border and stop in Canada customs and pay duties and relevant fees, usually just taxes like buying it here.
I have had 3 boxes I could not carry shipped there for $75 plus a bit of time and fuel going across. Courier into Canada would of been 300+. The largest thing i have had was rear tractor tires shipped from Iowa at $190 freight on a pallet. My Dad got a hobby milling machine the same day to.

I know a few years ago my friend from up the road had YT parts shipped to this guy and went and picked them up . Maybe you could do that depending where you are and if a guy does that kinda service. most places seem to have a guy doing it now over the border. Our guys doubled the building size, and they still don't have room there. Only thing is our $ being worth less than monopoly money doesn't help so much now, but can still be worth it on some stuff savings opportunitys are out there if your lucky.
Regards Robert

Thanks Robert. I used to live in Abbotsford - 5 min from the border and used "Ship Happens" a few times. Great service and saves a lot of time and money. Now we live in Prince George - 700 km away. Guess it's just something I'm going to have to figure out as I go. I could get my daughter to pick up stuff for me - she's still in Vancouver but not for nickle and dime stuff. Maybe if I could save $100 or more....

I thought we had a 'Free Trade' agreement with Canada? Seems like since the countries and citizens are very interactive both sides could freely move goods and services across the border both ways.

We ship stuff all over the world, except to china, It is more expensive for us to ship to across the border to Canada than to a lot of overseas countrys. doesn't matter if it is the post office, ups, etc.

Hi phil, I am also canadian. I get many things from
usa. There is a ups depot just across the border
from my nearest entry point. I just have things
shipped to that address with my ph nbr and they
phone when it's there. I then pick it up. Ed will
farmall cub marks antique so no duty. Ed will

Hi, this freetrade idea is pure bs. There is an
insecticide that I use on peaches for twig borer. It
costs $675 per litre here. The same litre is $230 in
usa. I cant buy it there as you need a registered
orchard nbr. Where is the free trade. It is made in
canada ed will

Smaller and lighter items that can be shipped through the postal service are reasonable. Avoid UPS as their brokerage fees are outrageous.
I bought a torque wrench on ebay and discussed in abundance how important that shipping through the postal service was. She said she would ship USPS. Two days later the stupid old bat emailed with breathless enthusiasm and delight that she saved me $2 by shipping via UPS instead. UPS shows up in a couple of days and it was cheaper not to accept the wrench I had bought than to pay the fees.

Hey Phil its a shame that Canadians have so mush trouble getting parts from here I just cant see why its so difficult. I drove thru there once on the way to Elmendorf AFB Anchorage Alaska. Been years ago they had a volcano go off and there were no flights into anchorage. They needed a man up there real bad so I drove from San Antonio Texas 5500 miles one way. Beautiful country British Columbia and the Yukon Territory.
Real nice folks up there. I did have one lady turn around and follow me to the next town when I stopped she started to chew me out real good about the Exxon Valdez oil spill in Prince William Sound, Alaska I guess because she saw the Texas license plate and she thought I worked for Exxon. It took a few minutes to calm her down before she cut me loose. I went inside a small restaurant and asked the manager for a large coffee and a donut he said he didn't have donuts but he had cinnamon rolls so I ordered one cinnamon roll and one coffee. Well we chatted about my encounter with the woman. Talked about all the stuffed animals hanging on the walls I think every place I stopped they had stuffed animals hanging or posed inside. They had filled my order and he rang me up it was like 5 to 7 dollars I saw a plate covered with tin foil looked like a dozen cinnamon rolls so ok no big deal. Well I thanked him went out to the truck and opened the cinnamon rolls It was one cinnamon roll biggest thing Id ever seen about 10 inch's square by 21/2 inch's thick. I immediately went back it and told him it was a pretty big cinnamon roll but its not half as big as the ones in Texas. That was just the beginning of my trip through your beautiful country. Guys have a great day eh Byron

Sure did That's a beautiful place to live your a pretty lucky man. I got to Anchorage on Christmas eve Like to froze to death because my heater went out. Of course No one had parts for it even had to order it when I got to Anchorage. Tell you what you cant wear leather boots up there I had to take my boots off because my feet were freezing. Have a good day Byron.
