White 2-155 trans repair

I have a friend who brought his White 2-155 Fieldboss tractor to me.It only has one speed range working which is low,when you move the range shifter it feels like it's not attached inside the trans.Question,can you get the top cover off of the trans without removing the cab or can you lift the front of the cab to do so?Any help would be appreciated.

not sure on a 155 but on my 135 I took the floor out of the cab and was able to get to some hoses I needed to repair but not sure if one can get to the trans.

If the cross brace under the floor panel is bolted in the trans cover can be removed without too much trouble.

If you're talking about the 3spd, then there is nothing to do with the transmission. If the tractor quits moving when you shift the 3spd from low to direct or high, then a good guess is that your direct and high range clutches are shot. If this is the case, you have to pull the engine to take the 3spd out to rebuild it, but there is nothing to be done to the transmission for this repair.

If you have a pressure gage, there is a procedure to check the clutch pack pressures for direct and high, just to be sure prior to pulling the engine.
