John Deere Model 40 - Need pushrods part number...

Tried to order these today from this website, but they don't stock them. 2 of mine were found bent on disassembly. Do I need to worry about this? Can I attempt to straighten them out on a lathe or something?

Yes, you can straighten them.Just lay them on a flat table/workbench and pound them straight.Tap till it rolls straight.Been a
lot straightened that way.No need for a "lathe" or 'special' tool. But first find out and remedy the cause of the bending
pushrod.

If it a gasoline version (rather than an all-fuel), you can still get the pushrods from DEERE (Part #M30T) but they cost about $84!

After straightening, they will never be as strong as new, but on this slow-running, low-compression engine you will probably get by with it.

2 cylinder 40 tractor or 4 cylinder 40 combine? And years ago valves stuck in the AC 60 combine engine and bent the rods, just straightened with a hamer on flat surface and ran for years. Just might have to adjust valve clearance.
