Do two loaders cut the weight in half?

That's what they said was the plan. Leave one machine in neutral and the other will push. Didn't work in case you really thought it might.

We use to lift big rock with a pair of loaders that way. Both have to lift at the same time and both operators best know how to work well with each other. Then you back a truck etc under and let the rock down

I once heard a remark involving two monkees and a football,I believe this is what they meant.
As for droping it on a trailer or truck,,,,,you wouldn't drop it on mine.

I have done as you described... part of the problem in the above picture is thatone of the loaders is only 1/2 a loader! :)

Assuming that the yellow rig has a hoe on the back end , why didn't you just dig a hole halfway to China, and let it down? If you think it will be back in your life time, then you must figure on living to be 210 years old, or more.

Neighbor and I moved a wood deck with 2 loaders. He back up very slowly and I went forward. Guess you have to have a dancing partner is step with you.

Bruce, my thought also. they already had the top of the hole doug out, that hoe should be able to dig another 5' deeper and byby rock. There are many miles of stone walls buried around here. Mostly by dozers digging trenches parallel to walls and then pushing the stones in and covering them. This was prior to backhoes and excavators, and articulated back dumps to haul them to a revene and dump them there.

SURE but there are people who PAY for a rock like that in their yard! Out by the mail box so the snow plow can hit it.

Two thoughts. First, density of rock is 155 to 175 lbs. per cubic foot. I'd get a tape measure and measure that big honking thing, and get an idea what she weighs.
Other thing, in my area one of those is a loader, and one is a farm tractor. Some difference there, but you can get an idea of lift-abilities of each.

Down here it's bluestone country, but all the stoneyards sell fieldstone also. Some areas have ordinances against removing and selling old stonewalls to preserve the look of the countryside.
