Yes, I have a gator 6x4 /probably 1995 model/ I've been troubleshooting a no start condition, decided finally to open up the carb and check for any fuel restrictions internally, put everything back together, cranked her &she started up.......After taking it out for a quick road test of only 5or so minutes, she shut down on me, noticing engine was running hot and smoking. I did previously check oil and coolant levels. When I got vehicle back to garage I un capped radiator. She cranked and started, but noticed compression in radiator. Is this anindication that I have eng. problems??

Yes and the engine problem could be blown head gasket.

It does sound like a head gasket .... but I had a mid 90's Gator and I seem to recall there was an air bleeder in the coolant system. I recall changing the coolant and then it started overheating. I was so frustrated I took it to the dealer, they said if you don't get the air out it creates an air lock and the coolant wont circulate???

Google it...you never know. Good luck, Grant
