You kiddin me??

So I'm in the market for a transmission shield for the JD 1530 (part #: R48684) I got last week. I'm seeing them go for $500 and up! are you kidding me? Tell me why I shouldn't email these people and tell them what they can do with their shields. I will be paying a visit to my local fabricator tomorrow.

ANYHOO... there's one on fleabay for less than half of the $500 you are whining about.

$500 is new price from Deere. Wenger's lists a used one for $90 but Should be able to find it cheaper elsewhere in my experience. Looks like it is used on most or all utility tractors up to 2640 and equivalent industrial versions. Should be plentiful in parts yards.

What is that piece of tin shielding?
If it is only 1/16 thick it's got to be only for looks and not protection.
