Battery opinion

I normally buy john Deere batteries, but I'm not convinced they are as good as they use to be? I stopped at a new Theisen Store ( farm and ranch ) that just opened in Sparta WI. To check it out. I saw these batteries, just wondering if anybody has used/knows anything about them. They are for my 4010 John Deere. The Cold Crank (460) rate is the same as Farm and Fleet Store ones that have been in the tractor for about 8 years. Note $ 85 dollar price. Thanks

Not sure on those, but you might look into Deka batteries?!

Local truck shop sells them besides Interstates (garbage in my opinion).

I bought a REMAN 4D-LT, and it failed in 2 weeks, rep called me, asked what happened, and contacted the business and told the guy to give me a BRAND NEW 4D-LT (not another reman) have had it for 2 years, and it cold cranks my Ford 4400 over like nothing, even when it is 0 out here!! No block heater either! :

Almost forgot to say, they were MUCH cheaper than other "brand name" batteries...

Now day it is a crap shoot when it comes to batteries since there is only 3 or 4 place that make them and those places can put a good number of labels on them so you might buy a battery at one place but be made for say 10 places and say different thing but all be the same other then the label

Just because two or more brand batteries(or anything else) are built in the same factory
doesn't mean they are built to the same specs and are the same quality.

Very true but then again how many times do things get mixed up in this day and age???? Sort of like yesterday I opened a case of beer 30 pack. Guess what it was 4 shy of what it should have had and the pack was sealed. Now days the only thing I trust is what I know works and is as it should be in the pack as counted. I.E. I payed for 30 cans of beer and got 26 and yes I complained to the store and they said well not any thing we can do it has to go back the the company.

Well your asking if a battery that is 200 cold cranking amps lower than the JD battery???? You should be using a JD battery TY24341 $123.25 after core exchange.

CCA 620 at 0 degrees F. , 744 amps at 32 degrees F.
weight 35 lbs.

These batteries will crank better and last longer than the cheaper batteries if your in a cold climate.

I would suggest you do the math. Divide the cca's by the cost. You'll find the cheaper battery you posted is a little more expensive than Deere's.

Well since you asked ... last battery I needed for my MF diesel I measured the battery box, just went to O'Reilly's and told them I needed the largest diesel heavy-duty battery that would fit. Price differences were $10 here or $15 there, insignificant over the lifetime. That battery whatever it is is 11 years old, still going strong. Long story, I always trust O'Reilly's. Just me, but Somehow they always give me the best advice.

You get what you pay for. I am a firm believer in using OEM parts including batteries.

Store was a Sav-A-Lot store and I did not have the case with me or they might have done something. Manager said it was the company who made it fault so they could not do any thing about it
