Haven't got the bill yet, but I know it's gonna top the purchase price. Least now, it's repaired and home. :>)

Tightened up the front end, brake job (inside the rear end), both rear planetaries and had it serviced. Oh yeah, replaced that $2K front hydraulic pump.

But, look at the price of a new one. Geeeze!

Does this mean we will be seeing lots of pictures of this beast in action? Now that she has ran up her bill, she's going to have to really earn her keep!

The first owner probably got a "Hat and Coat", When you bought it you got a "thank you", and know you got a bring it back any time. LOL

I think you are right.

But, I did hit a clay spot last fall with that big plow. Stopped her cold and the front end came up 6 feet of the ground.

I heard a "pop", didn't think anything of it. Bet that's when that tooth came off the one pinion. Trouble is, once something foreign is in that enclosed housing, it just revolves around in there and grinds itself to death.

I dunno,

Well since you have now gotten the bugs out you should have a lot of use ahead of you with it. I have done the same thing on several different brands. It just works out that way at times.

It seems like I get the following statement a lot: " I have never seen one break that before" !!!! LOL

That rear end sounds as cheaply built as the one one my 1950 Oliver. It took the teeth off of both bull gears plus broke an axle. Maybe the noise of the 4-53 and the cab vibrating was the cause instead.
