Any one have a good troubleshooting guide for the hydraulics? My front loader works fine but the three point hitch is inop. I just changed the filter and had no improvement.

The 98 Escort power steering pump is working great as a replacement for the original, I even used the old mount. Thanks for the advice.

How long have you had the tractor? Has the 3 point ever worked for you? There's a lever that has to be flipped over for it to work I believe.

There is a curved black lever on the right side near the rock shaft that locks it in up position for travel.

Glad to hear that worked for you.

Start here at the FAQs at the DB Tractor Club- http://www.dbtc.co.uk/index.php?module=Content&func=view&pid=172

I've had the tractor three months, good deal! three point has never worked and I have moved the lock to both positions to no avail. I can lift the arms up and lock them in that position but, they fall back down when I move the lever.

As I said, the front loader works great, nothing in the back. I just wanted to see if there was anything to check before I tear into it.

Have a 4600. Can be as finicky as a May cat. My 4600 is a bit different from the regular DB's from what I've seen. Mine has the factory loader plumbed in and is run through the 3 position divider behind the 3 point draft lever. I trust you've checked that as well. John Achmann is our area DB ace and he is over at the Case / DB page. He resurrected the plumbing on a well rested 990 by checking the valves behind the left foot board. Twas a stuck plunger. My 4600 is lacking that valve set up.

Go to the Case page. page 13 on 3-3-15. heading DB 990.... good pics and description.

Woody, there is an oval plate on the right side of the axle housing next to the seat. CAREFULLY PULL THE 2 SCREWS OUT AFTER CLEANING THE DIRT OFF. uNDERNEATH YOEN WILL FIND TWO LARGE FLATHEAD SCREWS. pULL MTHESE OUT ONE AT A TIME AND CLEAN THEM OUT. you probably have some debris in them. Get a repair manual for it beforre doining any thing major.Als change your hyd oil and filter and cleanthe screen carefully.Hopefully the screen is still there and the PO didn't throw it away like so many that I have worked on. Good luck.
