She Followed Me...... (pics)

My mother that is! She wanted to get a few good pictures of my Ferguson, so, away we went! The first picture is of the Home Stead house, built in the EARLY 1920's. This is the start of the farm where THIS Ferguson originally came from! Ralph (the deceased owner) lived here, and farmed this little place with this TO-30 and a WD-45. This was his favorite, and now it is mine!

For sentimental reasons, I wanted to put it back into the field. This was his field, and I know that this Ferguson has spent a LOT of hours working in it! Felt good to be home... :)

This was his little Oliver No.4 Disc that he used with it as well.. I still have most of his original equipment, and plan on keeping it for a LONG time! :)

Nice pictures. Some people in the world might not understand but there is something about being out in the open working the soil. Nice looking equipment.

Thanks! I take VERY good care of my stuff, and it seems to take pretty good care of me too! :)

I know it... What a feeling!

When I am on one of my Farmalls. I feel like I am on top of the world!!! LOVE the feeling... Finished my plowing yesterday. 6 hours battling slop and rocks with the H, but I got it done, and it looks VERY good! :)

Looks like you live in a real nice part of the country. I took a google earth tour of your country the other day when you posted your location. Looks like the river offers something for everyone, but it also looks like you need to put on a lot of road miles to get to any major towns, which suits me.
Hope you don't have a lot of citiots with too much money and time on their hands, moveing in there and wanting to change everything, like they are here.

RANT..You are so lucky Bryce to have most all of the original equipment. About three years before my old man passed he got a sudden bug up his ......he had to clean the farm. There were about ten pieces of equipment the were all under cover and well kept. Now they were on the old side but very usable. I told him and my sister too that he should just leave it alone and we would worry about it. One day I go up to the farm and EVERY THING IS GONE!!!!!!!! He GAVE IT TO THE JUNKEY!!! EVERYTHING except, the sh$^*t spreader? Have you ever wanted to strangle someone? Even the neighbors asked what was he thinking? I told them "Im his kid ..TELL ME"? It is three years now and I still get upset. Very glad you have the chance to play and remember. Mine was thrown away.

Looks like you are doing a good job.

Your countryside looks a lot like our farm here in NE Texas.

Thanks for sharing your photos with us.

If there is a bright side to that, at least there won't be any squabbles over who gets what. I have seen some ugly battles like that.

good friend of mine had same kind of thing with his dad.
he had a 59 Chevrolet convertible he was buying the parts he needed to restore the car.
one day he went out to his dad's to start on the car and it was GONE!he went in the house and asked his dad what happened to my car?
his dad said i got tired of all that old shut sitting around so i called the junk man.
old friend said that was the first time i could have killed him.

Those people were not brought up with the word nostalgia in their vocabulary. When they got up in age their main concern was having enough money to keep the wolves away and making sure their kids didn't have to be put out financially because of them. my Grandparents and Parents were all the same way. It did just what they intended. They were happy 'til the end. It's their stuff and their life and I respected that. They never called the scrapper but did sell all. Most was gone long before they died so it isn't like we had no chance to get it. We weren't financially able to be "nostalgic" at the time.

I don't care if it's in a cab or open station, farm or construction equipment there is something about working soil that's addictive.

Jeffcat the only way to relieve those bad thoughts from your mind is to forgive your dad. Those were his and he could do with them what he wanted. I know this sounds blunt but I've been thru it myself. Once I forgave dad it took a giant burden off my shoulders that you can't even imagine.
