I was at a Sand & Gravel place a few weeks ago and they had a sign that they charged $XX per ton for landscapers to dump their trimmings. S&G place turns it into compost and sells it back to other landscapers; S&G gets money on both ends of that deal.

Our local Native Band has put together a site that takes waste green and converts it to useable soil. They spent some millions of dollars for start-up and are doing a great job. They will pay for the whole thing this year. Locals and 'weekenders' (me included -mid week) are lined up on weekends. I say "Good job". b

I'd like to see the machine grinding up that stuff. Not any tree companies I know of sell fire wood. Just too expensive to process. Most is ground up. In the next town from me there is a mushroom farm. They always have a big pile of mushroom growing compost. It's free if you load it, or 20.00 if they load it. I filled my pickup my self one time. The next time I spent 20.00 Stan

google "Rotochopper". Those machines are made about 20 miles from me. Went on their factory tour a few years ago.

One advantage I have having a farm in a so called developed area,I can usually get all the wood and wood chips I want from tree companies operating in the area because if I don't take it they have to pay to get rid of it.Think I have about 20 dump truck loads of
chips and stump grindings in the pile now.

Morbark Inc. and Peterson Mfg. make the biggest whole tree chippers/grinders. You can watch them in operation on youtube or their websites. We always got our dyed mulch free from the test site when I worked at Morbark .
