Prayer Requests for Mrs Ia Roy

My wife Julie was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in mid December. She had surgery on Christmas eve day. She has had setbacks at every stage since then. She was in the hospital for a week in early February and now since the 10th of March in Waterloo about 40 miles away. She was not physically or mentally ready for chemotherapy, but she got half of the first round on the 12th and the other half on the 16th while in intensive care. Tomorrow we will be moving her to Hospice near home if she lasts that long. Prognosis is several days. Last night the boys and 2 of the grand-daughters were there to see her in intensive care. The most alert she has been in several days was when the 2 girls ages 5 and 8 were able to climb into bed with her to hug and kiss her. She smiled and was able to communicate her love for them. We were able to interrogate her as to her last wishes. She was able to communicate to us that she wanted to leave the hospital and go home to our town to hospice to be near most of us. Monday 39 years ago we set the date to be married 6 months forward. She will leave behind 3 sons, and 3 granddaughters, a brother and her parents, and me. We have been married for 2/3 of my life and more than that of hers. Her parents moved here about 7 years ago because her mother was going thru ovarian cancer treatment and because they needed help. She was the person that took care of everyone else. The local grandkids were with her every day when they were younger and sometimes called her mom instead of grandma. Her parents depended on her to make out of town doctor appointments. She will be sorely missed.

I am sorry you and your family are going through this terrible time. Cancer is a terrible thing. It takes too many before their time. Enjoy the time you have and remember the good times gone by.

My thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family. We went thru that with my mom a couple years ago. Whenever you are having a difficult time think of one happy time you had together. Stay focused on the good things. Best wishes
