Comical, but true! Reminds me of an incident nearby. A few years ago a subdivision was constructed not too far from an airport. Before long several of the new homeowners were complaining and were wanting to limit the amount of noise generated by air traffic! Duuhhhh.

That happened at Raceway Park . New homeowners started CARS Citizens Against Race Sounds . They had no idea how deep the NHRA pockets were . They got so much hate mail [from all over the country] that they moved. The track would violate the noise ordinance and pay the fines.It was just an added cost of racing.

Fort Wayne, Indiana about ten years ago. People wanted the old airfield expanded so it could be kept open. City said ok here is what we need to do. Those who were most vocal about it were the ones who would have to move to expand it. That wasn't part of their plan they wanted the people on the other side of the airfield to move but it wasn't economically feasible to move the amount of dirt required to expand that direction.

Don't know what happened to it but I have to give the city credit. People living along old highway 30 wanted the truck route changed so trucks wouldn't be going by their place. City council had some proposed changes and while they were fighting about it the mayor stepped up and said they could plan all they want any changes would be vetoed, they weren't going to send trucks around any more turns and create more congestion and noise for the convenience of a half dozen people.
