Was at a consignment auction in Torrington, Wyoming today. Auction is run by Madden Brothers. Here is what some tractors brought

2. IH 1486---$9,500
3. CIH 3294 W/MFWD--$11,000
4. IH 186 Hydro, 15,000 hrs and new paint--$16,000
5. Ford 5610 w/loader---$9,750
6. IH 656 gas Hydro with loader--$6,750
7. IH Hydro 100(needed paint)---$8,000
8. AC 190XT--$5,250
9. MF 180 w/new clutch--$7,250
10. IH 460 gas w/loader--$3,500
11. JD 8430 4x4 (Hole in piston-still ran)--$5,500

Shows that old iron still brings pretty good prices

186 hydro with 15,000 hours? That's a lot of hours. Must be an interesting tractor to drive. I like the hydro on a combine but can't say that I would care for it on a tractor.

I've operated hydro tractors before. They are great when used as loader tractors or for spreading manure, baling/chopping forage and snow blowing. But they suck if you use them for field work,i.e, discing, plowing, etc.

We had a 186 on the feed wagon at the dairy I worked at. When it was in the shop it SUCKED to feed with the 1086, ridding the clutch all day long, grinding gears between the different pens. Ours probably had alot more than 15,000 hours as well, took 4 hrs to feed there.
