can't find serial number for super h

we are restoring a farmall super H but can't find the serial number anywhere to know what year it is. We have the number can anyone suggest how to find it

On left side (<-) of the YT page(classic view, or homepage) serial numbers, Farmall, Super H/HV
If you can't find it on the tractor, I think it belongs on the left side(sitting in seat) of the clutch housing, like a regular H.

S/N is stamped onto a stainless steel tag riveted to the left side of the clutch housing. If the plate's missing you're pretty much out of luck.

However you can get figure the year your tractor rolled out of the factory by looking at date codes on the major castings. Date code character format is xx-yy-z, where xx is month, yy is day, and z is year the casting was poured. (For the year code, X = 1952, Y = '53 and Z = '54).

Usually a tractor was assembled within 4 - 6 weeks of the newest (highest...) casting code.

Squze me if I'm slightly off course. Me thinks the Super H was built two years 1953 and 1954
The 53 had battery under gas tank and the 54 under seat.

If you have the serial number and its 501 and higher and below 22202 its a 53 model. If 22202 or higher its a 54 model.
