E bay sales or should I say non sales

Noticed tractors seem to not sell much. Lots of offers. Many are much too high anyhow. I did just place 150 dollar bid on JD 4840 started at 100.00 A case where fellow just listed and started at nothing to get it going. That seems like a good plan Strange reserve not met!!I really just wonder why some list at totally unreasonable prices.

I suppose it only takes the one guy to pay what they are asking.

I always start my items low. Then the bids will show what kind of interest is out there for that particular item. If you start them high or a buy it now price will limit your customers. A buy it now price is nice when selling though, then all I have to do is check my emails to see if an item sold without having to log on to ebay...

If they insist on a price reserve then why not start the bid at that price? I never understood that. Or at least say in the ad text what the reserve price is.

Sometimes that will stimulate bidding and then it goes above the previous failed auction. Weird market, and they are hard to ship

Sometimes it has to do with the fees structure.
I'm not up on it all anymore as I gave up on selling there when it went to pay pal only.
