...Spring. After three days in the forty's I saw my first yellow jacket.

I was out cutting wood and over my wagon, there he was buzzing around the wagon.

Hmm. I saw some insects out flying around today now that you mention it. A few weeks ago when it was mild, before the bottom fell out, I saw a mosquito flying around in one of the barns. You saw a yellow jacket? Hmm. Wonder what we're in for. It was a pretty mild winter overall. Past couple of weeks, official winter, but before that pretty mild.

I wouldn't have been surprised if it was by the house, but it was a half mile away from any buildings

I've had flies all winter in the house and in the shop. Odd.
