Before we can get the plows out and do the gardens.
I came across this photo I posted on a hunting forum last May.
Putting in a deer plot up at my land.
Two months isn't that long.

The only plow I can think about right now is the snow plow. The other plow is under a 3 foot drift right now. I have to say you have some nice looking dirt there. It ott to grow a good crop for the deer. Funny right now I smell fresh turned dirt and diesel smoke, Gotta love it. Bandit

We don't have to put up deer plots here. Here they destroy everything, gardens, row crops, hay, the crops we put out for our gees to feed on, etc etc etc As previously stated good looking dirt

Early 70s 4000, 5000? Nice pic.

I'm right there with you, that 13 below 28 hours ago is much too fresh in my mind to get thinking on spring yet.....

When I do that here, they always come out and watch. I will say one thing, its possible for some winter kill this year for sure, the herd of 40+ has not been seen around in the vicinity for weeks, but I do see some scattered about. Snow is still up over my knees at this point.

Had a coyote (lets not bring that up again LOL !) casing the place here, grazed him one morning with a .308 at 100 yds, few spots of blood and clean tracks out, no blood trail, took the shot in a hurry right out the front door, with our land in the background, definitely time to sight in the newer ammo, something is off a little, he got the message I am sure. Just can't have em that close, given the vulnerability of a few things, people and small dogs etc. Have not seen him nor his tracks in my yard since, I think he moved into a 55 gallon drum on its side in my yard, buried in the snow just like a den, heavy tracks to and from, scat and it was about the largest one I have recalled seeing. The neighbor just missed running right into this one, with a pug on the leash.

Ultradog, I don't remember what part of MN. you are in but here in North Mankato we have no snow on fields. Little left in the ditches but that"s it. Ten day forecast calls for sunshine and temps in the mid-50s. So I'm thinking in 10 days we can drag off some plowing and plant a little oats. (or we might have a foot of snow on the fields)

Put the Northwest Rotovator on yesterday and tilled an acre...Hmongs are ready to plant so have to till their fields tomorrow. We are way ahead this year, dirt is perfect. I'd think about planting my onions if they were here....
